Antique Large Baby-Doll Old Wood Cradle- Unusual Rocker Handle- Dowels

Up for auction is a very nice old wooden baby cradle! This cradle is 36” long plus an additional 12 inch handle making it a total length of 48” when handle is extended. Including the rockers it is 27” wide. It is very unusual because of the handy rocker handle. Mom could sit in a chair and hold the handle to rock the cradle and not have to bend over- a really nice luxury feature! There are also two handle cut outs - one on each side! This cradle is also exceptionally nice because of the dowel construction. The large end is attached with 13 dowels- the smaller (foot end) is attached with 11 dowels. The hand rocker is also attached with dowels. The rocker height is 6” and the rockers are 27” wide.
The entire rocker is solid. The finish is worn- especially along the top rim from repeated use, I assume. Overall a very nice piece. This is the perfect piece to fill any corner - especially a farmhouse decor. Perfect for a large farmhouse kitchen - in by gone days there was usually a cradle in the kitchen where a busy mother was working ( and it was also warm)
